Mandisa Phuncu balances her roles as an entrepreneur, founder and owner of Amari Woman, and a Mrs. SA Semi-Finalist with inspiring dedication and passion for African-inspired fashion. Raised in a vibrant African community, she drew inspiration from her cultural heritage, shaping her career and values. Her entrepreneurial journey began with a dream to create clothing that celebrates African culture. Starting small with designs for friends and family, her perseverance transformed this passion into a thriving business.

Amari Woman was born out of Mandisa's desire to empower women through fashion. Each piece reflects the rich cultural heritage of Africa, making women feel their best. Mandisa's day starts at 5:00 AM, preparing her two boys for school. After dropping them off, her day is filled with business activities, from sourcing fabrics to creating brand content, all while being a devoted mother.

Balancing work and family is a significant challenge, especially without a nanny. However, Mandisa’s strategic planning and determination helped her steer this demanding schedule. Her achievements, from growing Amari Woman to becoming a Mrs. SA Semi-Finalist, are a testament to her hard work.

Mandisa encourages other working moms to persevere in their dreams. She acknowledges the difficulty in finding balance but emphasises that their children notice and appreciate every effort. Faith plays a crucial role in Mandisa's life, providing her with peace, wisdom, and motivation to keep going, even on tough days.

Her designs celebrate African culture, empowering women and making them feel confident. Mandisa aims to grow her brand internationally, bringing African-inspired fashion to a global audience. Her story is a powerful reminder of working mothers' dedication and perseverance, showing that you can achieve your dreams with determination, faith, and love for what you do.
